When I was a horse-obsessed seven year-old, my sympathetic uncle sold me a pony for a penny and my career in the horse business was born. There was no aspect of horses, from their many breeds to the countless ways they could be trained to every secret detail of their existence that didn't fascinate me.
Unfortunately, I didn't have the foresight to be born into a family with the financial resources to support my passion, so I took matters into my own hands... I pursued my horse education with a single minded determination, never missing a chance to add to my knowledge.
In recent times I've come to appreciate the importance of well designed, quality constructed equipment. The term 'using gear' exemplifies what I'm talking about; saddles, strap goods and accessories that enhance the rider's efforts to interact with the horse.
Here in my shop in Hamilton, Montana I've assembled a great collection of riding and training equipment both new and used.
I'm currently apprenticing with a skilled saddle maker, Bob Trezona, who is teaching me to do quality repair work as well as to make new custom equipment.
Thanks to his guidance and my husband's woodworking skills, I now have a beautiful, fully equipped workshop right here in the store.
To further the western lifestyle experience I also offer select, locally made décor items and country style flea market finds. Whether it's helping you to fit a saddle to your horse, fix his halter, build a set of spur straps or find that perfect wall accent, I am here to help.
